Yide e-Linxian: Into the Classrooms of CKGSB & CEIBS

In the new era where commercial innovation and social responsibility resonate in tandem, Wang Guangyi, Chairman of Guangxi Yide Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yide Group"), keenly identified the core supply-demand mismatch plaguing the cold-chain transportation industry during his EMBA studies at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. The industry suffered from massive waste of transport capacity caused by widespread empty return trips, while remote regions struggled with blocked exports of high-quality agricultural products and inefficient distribution of emergency medical supplies due to inadequate cold-chain logistics.

To tackle this challenge, Wang pioneered the launch of the Cold-Chain Benefit Station project. Leveraging an intelligent temperature-control system and efficient matching algorithms, the initiative revitalized idle transport capacity and built a bridge between demand in remote areas and market supply. It not only opened up new revenue streams for refrigerated truck drivers and improved vehicle turnover rates but also enhanced the Group’s brand equity, achieving a win-win situation for both economic and social benefits.

Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and China Europe International Business School are top-tier business education institutions in China, and their selection of teaching cases represents the highest industry recognition for model innovation and social value creation. At the end of 2022, the project stood out for its outstanding model and remarkable social value, winning the Good Business Practice Case Award and the Light Forward Award from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, and was successfully selected as a teaching case by China Europe International Business School. It has become a model of "business for good" recognized by two top business schools, with its industry leadership and benchmark status officially certified.
